The Dubbo Dash attracted one of the best turnouts this year. The complex and subtly varied urban environments offered by the combined campuses of the three schools, (St Johns College, Dubbo Christian School and St John Primary) made it easy to set two interesting courses, a Blue and a Sprint.

There were many outstanding p
erformances - a clear indicator of growing mastery and fitness. Twenty-three people had a go at the Sprint....well I vaulted the high fence at this point..... Kerrie darted around the course combining good navigation with great fitness, and took first place. Friendly rivals Dale and Sally were only twenty-seven seconds apart but it was Dale’s turn to be a grinner. Alain Trembleau, orienteering for the first time, did remarkably well. Alain was sixteen seconds behind Dale and eleven seconds ahead of Sally.

Congratulations to all of the juniors who had a go on the Sprint Course!

Zoooomm...The Blue Course was won by Jessica Hyland but pocket rocket Blake Smith was hot on her heels! Amber Burton took third place showing determination, speed and good orienteering skills.

I would like to say a really special thank you to Sally, Dale and Kerrie who took over registrations while I walked around trying to
elicit sympathy for my bleeding elbow.  I was almost the centre of attention until upstaged by Paul who said that he had been deliberately knocked down by a whomping willow (or similar nasty tree). I hope that you are okay Paul Surprised

A big thank you also to Kerrie and Alain for helping us to collect controls.

Well done everybody and thank you for supporting this event - it was great to see you!! In the (slightly altered) words of Po in Kung Fu Panda “you were all deadly and members from other clubs may go blind from over-exposure to pure awesomeness”.
Awesome Po!
