TAFE Scholar's Scamper report

Academic enjoyment at the Scholar's ScamperForty scholars scampered at the inaugural Scholars' Scamper. Great weather, old and new friends, and wonderful individual performances made this event particularly special.  Rob Taylor set the bar high in the Open Sprint when he powered into the finish with a time of 12mins 54secs just ahead of Ross Barwick who had thundered home with a time of 13mins 2secs, but we knew Sally Devenish meant business when she psyched us out with her stretches - an awesome display of muscle fine tuning. With Rob's finishing time in her sights Sally bolted around the course in a sizzling 12mins 1sec to take first place. In the Junior Sprint it was Georgia Berry's fantastic time of 14mins 7secs which Ethan Phipps punches a controlsecured her first place. Kate Kennedy and Will Druce who took second and third place also did very well. Jessica Hyland completed the Green Course in an amazing time of 9mins - well done! Congratulations too to Amber Burton (13mins 5secs) and Katie Wallace (14mins 30secs) who took second place and third place respectively.

We would like to extend a special welcome to those people who joined us for the first time today. We hope you had a great time and look forward to seeing you again.

I would like to extend a special thanks to Sally who was brilliant on the registration desk, Michelle and Paul Roth and family whose kindness knows no bounds, and to Jessica and Ingrid, Karen and Katie and my dear son Sam who helped me collect controls and pack up.

Results for the event are now available in the results section.
